Catherine de Smet is a professor at Université Paris 8 Vincennes – Saint-Denis. She is the author of Le Corbusier, Architect of Books (Lars Müller, 2005), Vers une architecture du livre: Le Corbusier – édition et mise en pages, 1912-1965 (Lars Müller, 2007) and Le Corbusier penseur du musée (Flammarion, 2019), as well as Paris Couleurs: Gérard Ifert, ektachromes 1953-1954 (B42, 2019). She has also co-edited several volumes, including Graphic Design: History in the Writing with Sara De Bondt (Occasional Papers, 2012) and Études sur le collectif Grapus, 1970-1990 with Béatrice Fraenkel (B42, 2016). A collection of her writings on nineteenth- and twentieth-century graphic design has been published as Pour une critique du design graphique (B42, 2020).
