Alice Savoie is a type designer, researcher and educator. After obtaining a PhD from University of Reading (2014), she is currently a lecturer at ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne (HES-SO), Atelier national de recherche typographique (ENSAD Nancy), and École Pratique des Hautes Études (Université PSL). Since 2010, she has led several research projects relating to the evolution of typographic practices in the 20th century. Between 2018 and 2021 she was a post-doctoral student on the “Women in Type” project (University of Reading), and since 2023 she has been a member of the “Beyond Bézier” research team (ECAL). Her work was notably published by Journal of Design History (Oxford University Press), Edinburgh University Press and Princeton Architectural Press.
